What I really need is for them to link the schemes - every year I get to (or close to) Platinum in the USA from my one vacation and then everything expires and I start again when I visit again the following year. If they have a single worldwide scheme then I will easily move up the status levels and keep the benefits from my USA play.

The downside of course is that we probably won't have the different cards in the UK that we used to have.
