I recently had a bunch of custom plastic sleeves made to protect my slot cards and have about 10,000 extra sleeves left over if anyone else is interested. These are archival plastic sleeves that are prefectly sized for slot cards, standard size room key cards, phone cards, credit cards, etc. The pocket size is 2-3/16" x 3-3/8" while the fold over flap is 1-1/2" so you have a fairly long flap to hold and make it easier to slip in the card. The plastic is 1.6mil in thickness with the glue strip for the flap attached to the back of the sleeve and NOT on the flap. In that way, the card cannot touch the glue strip if you open the sleeve later and remove or replace the card. They are packed in bundles of 100 sleeves.
I was searching for some time and just couldn't find anything that was as nice as these. Eventually I wound up having them custom made and have been very happy with the results. They completely encase the card once it's inserted so the card is totally protected. When the cards are stored in boxes the sleeves provide a "cushioning" effect so they stack well in the boxes even when the cards are embossed. Now I don't have to worry about cards where the plastic lamination was separating or cards that were extremely worn, etc. There's total protection even when handling the cards.
So -- if anyone is interested, I can sell bundles of 100 sleeves for $2.50 each plus postage since I bough them in large quantities. The regular price from the manufacturer for small quantities in other sizes is around $4.00/hundred but this is NOT one of their standard sizes. If you want to see a few samples, jet let me know and I'd be happy to mail out a few.
