Oh... but they do take off! Several coin clubs I used to belong to suspend meetings during the summer for the very same reasons ... folks are busier with work, family (kids home from school ... soccer, little leauge, etc.), away on vacations/travel, pool maintenance , beaches, swim clubs, cutting the grass and tending to back yard flower gardens, barbeques, going out to eat in the summer, visiting friends and relatives, etc., etc.

Hopefully, things will pick up in the Fall and Winter when folks have more spare time for their hobbies.

Having said that ... when collectors who were very instrumental in boosting/building the hobby, leave the hobby, lots of inspired enthusiam for the hobby from other active collectors leaves with them. This fact applies to chips & tokens as well as to slot cards and room keys.
