I turn in my empty cartridges at Staples for $2 each. When I receive my voucher each month, I use the voucher to purchase cases of Poland Springs water for $3.99 each. I've often picked up junked printers put out at the curb for trash pickup and salvage the cartridges to turn into Staples. I've sometimes purchased brand new ink cartriges at flea markets and thrift stores for $1 each that don't fit my printer just to recycle them at Staples each month.
