Moe's son called to say Moe's obituary was published in the Sacramento paper but you can access it on legacy.com and search for Moses Jardin. I am attaching a link in hopes that it will be a little easier. (I just tried it and it worked.) There is also a guest book that the family would appreciate any comments or stories you would like to share about Moe.
I also attached a picture taken at the 2007 convention - sorry I didn't have anything more recent. Moe and his "sidekick" Al Cattuzzo would drive to the convention in Las Vegas every summer and while Moe would complain about the heat, he thoroughly enjoyed the convention and getting to visit with his collector friends. And he would spend months gathering the latest cards to bring to the convention (that was a lot of planning and driving and visiting casinos).
A few times, he and Al would continue their journey from the convention on to Mississippi and other parts of the country, stopping at many casinos enroute to pick up slot cards and room keys. Moe also collected Motel 6 room keys and business cards, so their journeys also included stopping at numerous Motel 6's. Almost every year, Moe and Al made casino/Motel 6 trips up through Oregon and Washington to gather cards and keys.
Moe was a good friend and as a collector he was very generous. By that I mean he was not a "one for one" trader, if you needed 10 of his cards and he needed 2 of yours, that was OK and he was happy with the trade.
Moe will be missed by us slot card, room key and Harrah's cards collectors and if you're new to collecting and never got to meet him, you missed meeting a great person. No matter what he collected, he really "got into it" and all his collections were extensive as he devoted a lot of time and energy towards growing and expanding them. For Moe, it was all about the "chase".
So please read his obituary and sign the guest book. I know Moe did not want people to make a lot of fuss about his passing, but this is a good way to pay your respects to this great collector friend. We will miss him.
Thanks.
Esther
