Following my post last week about trying to remove permanent marker from a slot card, I decided to try the one method suggested by 2 different people (Ron Bayne & Jim Follis) which was to get another permanent marker, write over the top of the writing on the card and then clean with a cloth straight away as the wet ink dissolves the dry ink on the card.

And guess what......it worked

I had to do it in VERY small pieces (just a couple of millimetres each time) and clean away straight away - I just used a clean tissue - but overall it took about 5 minutes and the results are seem below in the before and after pictures.

The only downside was that it definitely did not work on the signature strip on the back, where "500" was also written. I guess because the signature strip is porous compared to the glossy front of the card. But even so, a great result. I had 2 cards and it worked on both - so I have a trader if anyone has any UK cards to trade!
