This was just on TV here in Las Vegas. Federal agents and Nevada Gaming agents raided, and shut down, Binion's Horseshoe Casino in downtown Las Vegas.
The Horseshoe had lost a lawsuit and was ordered to pay $1,900,000. Since they did not pay on time, the agents raided the casino tonight, just before 8 PM. They told everyone to "cash in their chips and tokens", but allowed the pokers games to go on, because no casino money is involved in the poker games. They then siezed all the money in the cashiers cage and the vaults. All doors were tied shut, and only hotel guests with keys are being allowed back in. The "shut-down" is "until further notice".
