While Quality is Job 1 was Ford, I always liked to think that it applied to the U.S. in general. Sadly, those days are long gone (not that there are any foreign countries that are stepping up to claim the #1 spot -- there's just a lot of junk produced today). I'll personally give Apple and HP high marks for quality equipment, but even HP printers aren't built to the incredible standards they once were. Anyone familiar with the Steelcase file cabinets of years past would be shocked at the quality of the cabinets today. I have my fingers crossed that someday we will regain our standards and pride in producing quality products.
