I remember when Sprint used to produce a lot of phonecards (I worked right next to the group that created them back in 1994).
I'm still looking for early Sprint phonecards to add to my collection.
Remember buying a ton of “Good News” razors just for the phonecards. I also bought a bunch of Hallmark Greeting Cards with the 10 minute phonecards inside (at $6.00 a whack).
I agree that there many issues that killed the phone card market such as rapid value increases, creating cards with the only intent of making it a collectable (remember $1.00 per minute cards), and the dump of cards on the market (Remember Assets Sports Cards).
But then again it sounds a lot like the casino memorabilia collecting hobby (LE chips a few years back).
