I believe the main reason the casinos want your SS number is so they have in their records all the info to print the W2G the next time you hit a jackpot. It does save a little time when you do have to have one generated but I haven't found any club that will refuse a card if you don't want to provide it. You WILL need to give them the SS number if you want to be paid your $1250+ win.
