That plan was for about 4500 miles in 9 1/2 days and I am sure you are all impressed. You are saying, "wow, Jerry is really impressively insane to try this." As it turned out, I had pretty well gaged the time it would take for each leg of the trip, but I severely underestimated how much time I would be in each casino (some of these places are really big!) and I ended up losing time the only place I could - my sleeping! Since 500+ miles of driving don't mix well with a lack of sleep, I had to trim stops off my schedule on the fly. First, as I was interested in getting cards, I looked at the Harrahs and Isle of Capri stops as expendable when I needed the time, as they had the same generic cards at all their stops. I made a stupid mistake in St. Louis when I cut off Harrahs and Ameristar and stopped at the Argosy Alton Belle on Sunday morning. Argosy cards are almost all the same, but I found at later Ameristar stops that all the Ameristar got new cards in a few months back - in three levels! This got me to Tunica early enough to hit all those places. Tuesday night I got into New Orleans much later than planed and had to cut the Harrahs off my stops and moved the others from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. That meant Wed, was way overbooked and I had to cut the Harrahs and Isle of Capri boats in Lake Charles and the Delta Downs stops off. And I was into Alexandria so late I couldn't get to Paragon. Sigh. In Shreveport the next day I shaved the Harrahs stop off, but made good enough time in the great weather that I was able to stop at the Okmulgee Creek Nation Casino 50 miles south of Tulsa. (I found it right on the highway I was travelling!) I got a call on my cell phone asking me if I was alright because of the tornados in Oklahoma. I was in great weather and a hundred miles west Oklahoma City was getting pounded that day. Phew! On Friday in Kansas City, I stopped at Harrahs and Ameristar but skipped Argosy and Isle of Capri. The 4 Kansas indian spots were ok except for a little getting lost on a dirt road trying to find White Cloud. I got into St. Jo early enough to hit the Riverboat that night instead of the next morning. On Saturday, I skipped the Harrahs in Council Bluffs and the rest of the way I made all the stops I had planned. I ended up doing just over 4400 miles and bringing home a huge box of cards. At each stop I thought getting any cards would be nice, and getting any new cards for my collection would be better. I figured getting any new high level cards in my searches would be great, and if I fould any old cards in my harvesting that I didn't have, it would be fantastic. I was successful in all categories and have a long list of cards discoveries to show you in the following postings. Enjoy.
