I'm looking for casino room key collectors that are interested in participating in a round robin. For those that haven't participated in a round robin before, the process is pretty simple...
-I'll gather the names of those interested in participating.
-I will then send 100 different casino related room keys to the first person on the list. (I had considered starting this RR with 150 keys, but responses to my recent posting indicate that people prefer 100 keys as the starting quantity).
-That person takes as many of the keys as they want out of the ones they receive, replacing them with their duplicates, one for one, making sure not to duplicate any of the keys already in the group. Please don't use the RR as a way to unload damaged keys -- I was a little disappointed with some of the keys received back in the recent RRs.
-They pack the keys up and send them on to the next person on the list. This process is continued with the last person on the list sending the keys back to me at the end.
-If you wish to receive two Round Robin shipments, please indicate so in your email. (Recent comments indicate that many people would like the opportunity to have multiple entries). Please be aware that your two entries may be made up of being in two different groups or your name appearing twice in the same group (once near the start & once near the end). It all depends upon the number of entrants in this RR run.
There are a few rules for this round robin:
(1) Only casino related room keys are being traded. (I had considered having "special" groups with just Nevada keys, heavier weighting toward Venetian keys, etc, but comments received indicate that a variety of keys from various casinos is desired. There is also a strong desire for the shipments to "bounce" across the country.)
(2) Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation is to be used for all shipments. I'm planning on using pages to hold the keys and using a quantity that fits comfortably into a USPS Flat Rate Envelope (the cost to ship should be roughly $5.60). If purchasing the postage at the USPS website, delivery confirmation is free.
(3) Once you've received the shipment and have finished with it, post on the message board when you've put the shipment back into the mail (and the delivery confirmation number), so the next person on the list can watch for it.
(4) Due to the Priority Mail requirement, this round robin is limited to shipping addresses in the United States.
(5) Please try to turn the shipment around as quickly as possible.
If you're interested in participating in this round robin, contact me directly by email at silvajim@hotmail.com and provide the following information:
-Your name
-Mailing address
-If there is a time over the next six weeks or so that would conflict with your ability to handle the RR (i.e. being away on a trip, work demands, etc.), if possible let me know now and I will try to place your name so that the timing will “work” with your schedule. Please note that this might limit my ability to list you more than once in the RR.
I plan to take names for roughly a week with the first shipments going out around February 24th. I will publish a list of the names and cities of the participants on the message board before the first shipment is mailed. Please note that full names (no nicknames or abbreviated names) will be posted on the message board at the time the RR is announced so that everyone knows who they are trading cards with.
