Although there remains a few "t"'s to cross and maybe an "i" or two to dot, it seems that formal recognition (by the CC>CC) of the Slot Card and Room Key Chapter of the CC>CC is just a short way away.
However, as the deadline draws near (midnight, December 31, 2002) for the CC>CC's annual OTY Awards, I asked the President-Elect of the Chapter what definition to use for the SCOTY portion of the competitions.
Accordingly, for purposes of the inaugural competition, qualified nominees will be any casino issued slot club card (i.e., a card used to insert into a slot machine to track play) OR casino affiliated room key (cards only), issued for the first time in the calendar year of 2002.
Additional details will be included in the 1st Quarter 2003 issue of the CCTN, to include announcing the official opening event of the competitions.
I would also like to solicit your comments about perhaps modifying the name of this ...OTY category from "Slot Card of the Year" (SCOTY) to "Slot Card / Room Key of the Year" and acronym it as: SKOTY.
Thank you Jim Munding, and I look forward to the inaugural occurrence of what I hope will be a continuing competition.
