Marquette is a little town 70 miles north of Dubuque. Here is a boat where the cards are history, as it was bought up by the Isle of Capri conglomerate and now uses the bland Isle of Capri cards. The cards are not as interesting as the stories behind them. The early cards were the green ones, and I got the one with my name on 9/2/95. When I got back there in June '97, they had switched to a new, much prettier card with a picture of the boat. But they ran out of the cards. So they issued me another green one. Since the imprinting equipment had been changed to reflect the new design, all the green cards given out later, as you can see here, had the name and number printed in the upper left corner over part of the Miss Marquette logo. The Slot Card Price Guide reports the blue picture card is available in two types: with Plastic Print-A-Card on the back (which I have) and with no mfg. mark (which I need). Since the change in ownership, you won't see anymore of these found at the boat, making them harder to get. Plus when I visited the Marquette boat last April, I couldn't even get an Isle of Capri card because a power surge had knocked the computers off-line and they could issue cards at that time. I just have the Harry Conrad green card for trade for another obsolete card.
