It sure is alot of fun hearing about the Cotton Club card adventure. Never in a million years would I believe how casino cards have become so popular.
Just to add a bit of info to the university on the Cotton Club Casino Greenville cards.
Blue Cards- The orginal Slot card. Issued for both bus and general players for any bus card collectors there are cards out there with just BUS printed or the bus operator name ie ABC CHARTERS (Rare find in any case)
Red Breakfast Club Card - Only 1000 were ever purchased and about 250 issued (if found the card numbers will be much higher than 250 because cards were issued with players exsisting Blue High Cotton Card number). I was very shocked to see one posted on Ebay. The cards orginal value was a roll of nickles and a cup of coffee every thursday for seniors. (wow how times change) Exstremely Rare Find _______
EZ Money white Card - Ive read where these cards were not issued. Just to clarify they were issued in great volume just as the High Cotton Card. But due to the closing and changing cards a promotion was ran where if you trade in the Cotton Club EZ Money card for the New Bayou Caddy Big EZ card the player was entered into a drawing. Therefore, not many players hung on to their cards. Also, all the trade in cards were destroyed. Just a tid bit of trivia for the dihard collecting geeks like me. "At the time the EZ money was designed the casino had no marketing money. Therefore the design was done in-house. Little did Mr Disney know but Mickey Mouse's body was erased and a talented dealor drew in the mr EZ Moneys face and body. Yet if you look at the hands and feet they would look familar to Walt Disney. LOL" hey do what ya have to do!
White VIP Card - these cards were issued as VIP passes for proven players to avoid lines and forgo the 10.00 admission fee. These cards were elemenated not long after the Las Vegas Casino opened next door with no admission fee. Rare find!
Gold VIP Card - only 1000 cards were ordered and about 25-50 ever issued. This was a self comping card at any food venue. Only the General manager could issue this card. Very hard to get, even when Cotton Club was open. This GM left not long after he started this program. Needless to say the gold card program left with him. This By Far would be the ULTIMATE find of all the Cotton Club cards. Ive Only seen One! And its hanging on my wall.
So that is that! Those are all of the Cotton Club Cards issued while open as the Cotton Club Casino in Greenville. I hope someone found this rambling useful.
