I went to the collector's show in Detroit last weekend and had a great time. Made some trades and got to see many friends, including Albert Scalzo, Larry Nitz, Dave Johnston (who lives less than ten miles from me, but I always run into him outside of Wisconsin!), Carl Neal, Brian McLean and others whose names I can't recall as I sit here.
On the way out, I stopped at the Indiana Lake Michigan boats, and was happy to pick up some of the new Blue Chip red temporary cards. At that place, the latest blue Rewards card is a CPICA 29538 and the light blue VIP card is now a cpi 30578. After the show I went to Casino Windsor, the Windsor racetrack, Mgm Grand, Motor City and Greektown. By the time I got to the last place I was feeing down a little, as every video poker machine I sat at all weekend seemed to be pretending to be a vacuum cleaner and the cards were same-old stuff. But at Greektown, as I was in line for a card, I spotted a open box on the back counter that were white. I didn't recall knowing about anything like that in the past, so when I was up to the counter I asked. The lady said they ran out of the black cards and these were temporary. She hoped I didn't mind. Mind? I had to refrain from jumping for joy at the prospect of a new card, especially since nobody at the show had hinted about these. I really scoured that place and looked everywhere in the crowded Saturday night. The text on the back of the white card has the web site added, so when they do get new black ones in, they may be a new card also. Traders are available.
