I suspect this is part of a 'devaluation' of the slot card at Harrahs, Albert. I haven't played enough to get Platinum... I'm guessing they are trying to use the 'upgrade' to Pt as an incentive to come in and play some more.

Kind of like the colors on your bank credit cards; all mine are platinum now, and I suspect there are no more gold ones being issued. I'm sure someone is trying to think of a 'metal' that will be perceived as more desirable than TITANIUM for the highest credit card level... maybe KRYPTONITE... it was stronger than Superman!
