The criteria for the chips/tokens, etc, are that they are used for their intended purpose (table, slot, etc.). Strikes are also dispensed by a machine (hence the same criteria).
I "assume" the criteria for SCOTY "may" be that it is officially used to track gaming play (same criteria that Pat/Steve use for listing in their book). (this statement is not fact, as the criteria has NOT been determined).
BUT, for a RKOTY, you may also have to include ALL hotel room keys, not just those issued by casinos! This opens up a whole new "can of worms". Hotels in general are light years ahead of casinos when it comes to using room keys as marketing tools. Hard Rock finally "gets it", and I'm sure more are to come. But, how would you limit the choices? Only casino-issued? Bars/grocery stores/etc are allowed in the other contests. Only Vegas/AC? LOTS to think about here.
Not suggesting a solution at this point, only pointing out a potential "flaw".
