I have not "announced" being the Chapter Election Chair, but instead was asked if I would do it and subsequently accepted, and in fact, I am honored!
Barring any additional discussion or commentary, I plan on acquiring a listing of the Chapter-to-be members based on a cut-off date as agreed to between myself and the Chapter-to-be organizer, Jim Munding. This cut-off date is strictly for purposes of holding Provisional Officer elections. It will set who is qualified to vote and who is eligible to hold office. The cut-ff date has nothing to do with Charter Member status.
That listing will then be furnished to everyone appearing on the list in conjunction with a Call for Nominations. The Call for Nominations will open for a period of about three weeks. The method in which Nominations may made are yet to be determined, however each Nomination must also be Seconded. That process must also be developed.
Nominations will be for Provisional Officer positions of the Chapter-to-be, without specifically identifying the office to-be-filled (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer). Additionally, the four open positions will only be filled (Provisionally) until the next regular election, which will take place at the first Membership Meeting (still to be scheduled) that will take place during the CC>CC's 2003 Convention. The four elected individuals will determine between them who will hold what Provisional position.
The principle functionality of the Provisional Officers is to fully establish the Chapter and to also prepare for the first Membership Meeting and Regular Election at the 2003 Convention.
Now is the time for comments, questions and discussion.
Thank you for your attention in this matter. Now lets build a great Chapter.
