I knew that would get your attention. Now seriously, I want to let you know that Jim and I had a PEACEFUL converstaion over the phone. I have given the chapter a lot of thought, and I do feel the slot card collectors need some recognition. We are NOT junk collectors-check out the prices of cards on ebay, and I for one want the chippers to realize that fact. Let me back up a bit and tell you how we were treated in the past. A little over a year ago, I was called a Renegade for starting a slot card club called PACK (People After Cards & Keys). Since then we have grown to 170 members! We were also told we were not allowed to use the chip board, so we got our own. Now all of a sudden the Big Boys want to be friends and allow us to join their club as a chapter! I was outraged!! Now we were good enough to join them? What changed? But you know, the more I thought about it, the more I thought this just might be a way to show them who we really are. I believe in the slot card collectors, and I know we will only get bigger. This is a fun, and fairly cheap hobby. No one says you need to find or buy those rare cards. This is a very open and fun sport! Friends are made readily, and we have a good time at the swaps, be it at the convention, or in the seprate rooms of other traders. So---ok, I said they would have to drag me kicking and screaming, while in chains before I would join their chapter, but I have had a change of mind. Let's not fight any education, we can get on these pieces of plastic. Let's support one another, be it every slot club, or card board out there who may have just that piece of information we need to grow. There is no competition here, I too belong to another slot card club even though I had started my own. You just never know when you might learn something new. I will support Jim, and join the chapter. Nuff said---Pat
