Archie (and others)...

Since I have the "send email when a reply post is made" turned ON, I get email messages for all these junks posts. And while that message (previously posted by me) is the object of SPAMbot, it is only this time around.

I have discussed with Greg Susong (webmaster/owner of the SlotCardBBS) about going back and deleting old posts that get targeted by the SPAMbots, but the issue then becomes altering archives (the history and continuity) of this record of communication.

I will also say that it has been tried, and another past post then becomes the target.

We have seen this SPAMbot situation come and go, rise and fall and several things are tried to stem the tide, but the software used to support this style of Message Board does not lend itself to powerfull screening tools and Greg relies a few people to periodically zap the SPAM.

At the present time, these posts are appearing here, on the StrikePoint, TheChipBoard and Message Boards and NOT all of the postings are tagged to past post by me. Mr. Spragg is getting his fair share of reply emails, as are several others.

Anyway, these are my observations.
