Chapter answers

I had promised you that I would let you know what Nate had to say when he answered my email. Here it is.

Chapters of the CC>CC have the same privileges as regular members. In addition, chapters can have a meeting room at the convention, publish chapter news in the quarterly magazine, have the ability to promote card collecting by soliciting all members of the CC>CC and have the Membership Officer include a chapter membership application to every new member.

1) At this time, chapter members do not have to be CC>CC members. We are presently discussing this issue with the chapters through the CPC.

A newly forming chapter must create their own by-laws. Since it is not now a requirement that chapter members be CC>CC members, this is not required in the by-laws. This is up to the group that forms the chapter. The new chapter also would determine the amount of dues required, if any.

2) The chapter can have a room set aside for a chapter meeting during the convention. The meeting could include a trading session. Time and place are dependent on availability. And with so many who cross over between different collectibles, it seems to make sense to have a single session.

3) Chapter meetings can be open to whom ever the chapter wishes to have attend. Therefore,
CC>CC members who are not chapter members can attend the slot card chapter meeting, if you want them to.

PACK is your organization and will have no official connection with the CC>CC. You should continue to provide your newsletter to whoever wants it.

Please feel free to share this with any of the other concerned collectors. I hope that I have answered all your questions. If not, or if you have any other concerns, please email me.

Best regards, Nate

I guess my take on his answer, is that the chapter itself is making up the rules, not the CC>CC. I want to say I am sorry for slamming the chapter the way I did, when they are not the ones making up these new rules. You do what you want. I will. But it sounds to me that we can be involved without paying the extra $10. I was told anyone who won't pay the $10 is either cheap or stubborn. Just call me BOTH! Pat
