The 2001 Mystic Lake cards were replaced last fall with 2002 versions, and when Iheard about it, I wondered if these were cards that were done up differently or just something that was added when the name was printed at the booth. Well, they are --- and they aren't! In examining the new cards, now that I have a bunch to look at, I find the white cards have no 2002 on them, only the exp date (which is printed when the name goes on) has changed. On the Black and Gold levels, I found some cards had taken the 2001 versions and the 2002 was silk-screened into place. (You can tell silk-screening because the printing is raised - run your finger over it or hold it at an angle to a light and see the "2002" standing up.) But these two levels also had cards where the "2002" was part of the card printing, not silk-screened. People who have to have all variations, no matter how small (should I mention Pat or Albert by name?) will need both types. On the Platinum level, all of the ones I got were silk-screened. It may be that there were enough left-over 2001 cards of this level that more beyond the silk-screened amount were not needed.
