The Showboat is a place that is a little out of the way in Las Vegas, (It's not on the Strip, not quite downtown, and on the Boulder Strip, but not near any of the other casinos.) but it has released a huge variety of slot cards in the past thirteen or so years. It has recently been renamed the Castaways.
I have one pretty old card of theirs, the yellow 6th type. The series of cards have quite often been broken down into different levels, with the 3rd, 6th, 8th and 9th type cards all issued in three to five color versions. The 8th and 9th series are very hard to tell apart. Especially with the phrasing used in the Guide. Type 8 says "Plastic Print-A-Card Co. is positioned slightly away from the right edge on reverse." Type 9 follows with "Plastic Print-A-Card Co. is farther to the right on reverse." Also, the type nine blue cards had the "Hotel Casino Las Vegas" in white type instead of black. More about the backs in the next posting, where I will show you them.
