Re: Response to Albert, Jerry, etc!

Steve and Pat have done a wonderful job of giving us the first 2 editions of the Slot Card price guide. We have about 1000% more information than we had 2 years ago. I agree with Steve that after a couple more editions, the "earlier issues" will cease to cause us problems. While we would all like to have it our way, that just isn't possible - let's get real! Have you ever written to other authors and told them you didn't like the way their books were written? I don't think so. If I were putting the book together I'd probably do it a little differently, but that wouldn't please everyone either. I can live with the book the way it is. I'll admit I do have some problems with the 1st issue, 2nd issue, etc., but I can deal with it (even at my age). Keep up the good work Pat and Steve!!!!!

Now, if I get to put in my 2 cents worth, I'd like to see the mag strip variations continued. I'd like to see the Indian and/or riverboat casinos listed at the end of each state listing. But am I going to get all up tight if it doesn't happen? No!

I've given some thought to scanning and printing out our own collection, but even that seems like a monumental task (about the size of Mt. Everest) - and we've only been collecting cards about 2 years. And when I look at the task just from my perspective, I can really appreciate the efforts and hours that Steve and Pat have put in on our behalf. So, for my part, I'll take the information in any form I can get it - and appreciate it. I can't even keep up with all the new cards you see posted here each day.

Also, as an added bit of information, my husband used to collect beer cans and way back in the 70's the national association published a book with colored pictures, and the price was about $25 I think. In the mid-90's, they undertook the effort again - it was a 2+ year effort from many people around the country and when the book was finally published, it sold for about $90-$100. That's what we'd be faced with on a slot card book with colored pictures.

So, get busy and scan your own collection and I bet you'll really appreciate Pat's and Steve's efforts even more than you do now!!

Where do we all send our 2 cents?

Thanks for listening.
