Pat and all other subscribers.
We are a small group. Many of us have been friends for quite a long time, know each other by sight thanx to the many get togethers and shows or at least by e-mail thanx to Greg for his board.
I don't know who it is you're talking about, but I can bet dollars to donuts it's not one of the old timers--meaning one of the original chip group.
Most of us have on going accounts with each other. Others of us just swap without even keeping track of who owes who and cares less about the bottom line. We have owed each other many multitudes of hundreds of dollars without one thought of ever being fleeced. Our reputations are too important to us--more than money can buy.
This is all leading up to something, but at the moment, I don't know what. *vbg*
I think the only recourse that makes any sense (that is if you are absolutely sure you are right and that you have contacted this person to reaffirm the debt,) is to post his name on this board for everyone to see and to advise the rest of us of what happened.
This way, the person involved will not get another chance to dun the rest of us and we will be rid of him. Personally, I don't ever check feedbacks from ebay, so that would not give me any warning--but then again, I never give feedbacks unless asked and never ask for them. (I have never even checked my own and have no idea if I have any negative ones or not--and care less one way or the other.)
I don't know if you would have a legal problem rejecting his renewel of his subscription or not. You might want to leave that answer to one of our attorneys on this board. Personally, I would like to see him barred--for good. But as I said before, I sure would like to make sure there was no misunderstanding before I took these drastic action.
God, I hope it's not me your talking about. That would really be embarrassing.
