Speaking Rock trip

Hi all, we just got back from a long 2,000 mile trip to El Paso in hopes of getting slot cards before they close this week. Well, these cards will be hard to get due to the fact Speaking Rock is a private casino, and you need a member "slot card" to get in the door. These are NOT used in the machine, and they give you ONE. The machines are set up for these cards, but Texas is trying to shut them down, so the slot in the machine is covered with paper. They told us they might be closed in a week, due to the fact they are not bingo only. They even have keno, which I don't think I have seen at another Indian casino. They were very hard to get, and believe me, will be worth more than said in the book. We got there late at night, and had to wait over an hour to speak to the manager who was attending a concert at the other side of the building. These are beautiful cards, but one you carry in your wallet to get into the casino. I was hoping since they are closing, they would give us several, which didn't happen. We also drove to Sunland Park which has new cards, but again, we got there very late. I was also surprised that Billy the Kid rack track is open for only 12 hours at a time. On weekdays they are open from 11-11, and on weekends from 12-12. I have not had a chance to see if the cards are different from the previous cards. So, after an almost dry run, we decided to drive to Rosswell and see the aliens. What a mistake. The trip was one dissappointment after another. Our last stop was Cripple Creek and found the same old...same old.... Pat
