Jerry -
Not debating the scarcity compared to regular cards - temp cards are definitely rarer. Just wanted to provide some insight into how many were actually made, and how easy that one was to reproduce (due to how it was originally manufactured).
Being a collector myself (not of slot cards, but many other things), I have to ask myself "is this worth this price?". Of course, the price is based upon many things....beauty, rarity, etc. This card (for a temp card) was issued in high quantities and easily reproduced. Mahoney's is currently using a generic temp card, and have only ordered 3,000. Your logic applies to them as well (finding discarded ones, turning them in, etc.)...so which one is "rarer"?
I guess since I was the designer of the card originally, I was shocked to see it so high...makes me wish I had saved a dozen or so!
