Las Vegas Card News

I was going to show off some new card versions but my repair job on my scanner software was followed by the discovery that my service at Photopoint.com (which I paid for!) has disappeared and I have not found a new way to get my photos (which are .gif files) on the web for you all to see. So the reporting will be the harder verbal description method. All of these are from my trip to LV December 6-11.

Stopped at the Reserve (which by now is officially Fiesta/Henderson) and got the new Red Fiesta card. But the Fiesta on Rancho (which can now be refered to as Fiesta/Rancho, to tell them apart) has a different version of that card. The fronts are the same, but the Rancho card has a line "(c) 2001, Fiesta Casino Hotel. a Stations Casino Company" and the Henderson location is using cards that have that line as only "(c) 2001, Fiesta Casino Hotel" I also picked up 2 of the new black Macho Millionaire cards at Rancho, and can trade one.

At Boardwalk, the new cards are identical to the old ones but the white printed signature strip is not on the new versions. I could not scan and show you this variation here if I wanted to -- it amounts to the old cards having a flat white area on the gloss white card, with the flat white part missing now.

The Hotel San Remo has a new version of their current card with the text on the back shuffled and rephrased slightly. Differences include the third line of text being "points for MEAL CREDITS, FREE GIFTS or CASH!" on the old version and "points to exchange for CASH or SAN REMO BUCKS!" on the new one. While looking there I only picked up a small handful of cards. But one of them was a green/white Founding Member card that the price guide listed as Very Rare - only 10 known! No, it is not for trade, I'm keeping it!

Since I got a card at Fitzgeralds end of May, they have totally changed the back of their cards. The new version no longer even mentions the address and ohone number, and instead has a Win Prizes that tells how to go to OLuckyCentral.com and deal online.

The Plaza card I just got has a slight reshuffling on the back. New ones have no Mfg mark and www.plazahotelcasino.com has been added.

A harder version to spot is at the MGM Grand. the new and old cards I have are identical, I thought, until I looked close with them side by side. the old card had a dark brown backround with a hard to make out film reel on the right side. The new version has an even darker (maybe even black) backround and the film reel has been lightened to make it much easier to see. This is a variation you need both in front of you to spot. Sorry I can't show you here.
