Now, I'm not one to usually comment on going rates for cards, and I apologize in advance if this is your auction, but I felt the need to comment on this card.
In the early 90's, when this boat first opened, I worked for DataCard. This is the company that makes the machines that put your name on the card, encodes the mag stripe, etc. I actually sold 2 of these machines to this boat, along with the cards for the player's club.
This temp card is 100% printed by this machine, much like the cards from Mississippi Belle II. What this means, is that it is very easy for them to print more on an as-need basis (which they did when they ran out of cards). I know the hobby classifies this as a "rare" card, but I know for a fact that over 40,000 were made on the initial run before the casino opened, and who know how many more have been made over the years.
Plus, because of the type of printing, it is extremely easy to duplicate (counterfeit). Trust me...I know...I designed the card!
