Not to stir things up, but Vic, you are incorrect in your statement that his images are not copyrighted. All created works are automatically copyrighted upon creation. The fact that they are published on the web does not make them 'free game', nor can it be assumed that by posting them, that he (Archie) has waived his right to protection. If Archie created the photo/scan/etc., it is his property. Period.

While I doubt this would rise to a legal venue, Archie is correct that the 'common courtesy' (ethical) thing to do is to remove his photos from your site. At the very least you should include information about whose photos they are and where you got them (a small tagline would suffice). That would be my definition of 'playing nicely'. ;)
