Re: Bar Codes
In Response To: Bar Codes ()

Pat - If the bar codes are put on by the company in California, what does the bar code contain, the account number, wow, no wonder you can not get extras.
Larry---they are numbers only, and the casino uses the the numbers for your account. Most of the time they write them down in a notebook, and it takes forever to find your card number.

You stated that the card company in California will no longer issue cards for casinos and that the casinos are on thier own - what a pity.
Larry--it isn't the card company that has gone out of business. It was one supplier in Montana that no longer sends them to a distributor.

What about room keys for the casinos, will they still be making them?
Larry--the casinos are really small and have no hotels. These casinos are small bars with 3-12 machines. Keno and poker.

Looks like a whole lotta new cards and room keys a forth coming.
Larry--yes, I think they will be changing cards. But right now most are using a pin number and some are using magnet tabs. Some use nothing, as for some reason these are locals only, and they don't want to promote the gaming.

You also stated that the card company in California liquidated their "samples" (over runs) - guess we know where they went or do we as there is more than one card manufacturer in California and the guide does not note a manufacturer for any of the Montana cards.
Larry--I have no idea where the samples went. These were liquidated by the company in Montana, not California. She said they mailed them out a while back. I also don't know the company name in California. Sorry. I am guessing if the casinos want more cards, they will contact the mfg in California. Most don't seem to care that they have run out. Most say they will take no new card members and just keep the club open for the people who already have the cards. It is really an odd system.
One last thing--Montana will not allow magnetic strips either. Don't ask me why Larry--I have no idea. Ha!!
