What you are saying Pat about cards coming out of the closet is true and pricing/rarity is hard to figure.Casinos ,I imagine ,very widely in their disposal of old cards.
The flip side to the more cards coming out is to increase the demand for cards.This can be done by trying to solicit new card collectors.The hobby always needs new blood.I try to get at least one new collector every other month.Look at the nunber of postings on chips vs.cards and you can see the disparity.
