He states in his auctions that he's a SquareTrade Member in his auctions as well as being a Certified eBay Trading Assistant. He should know better than to list items in this manner. If I do not receive what was represented in the auction listing, I'll simply take him to the resolution center and issue negative feedback. Once the dust settles, if the matter is not resolved in a manner I find acceptable, I'll never buy from him again.
Too many times these days there is no consequence to someones improper or unacceptable actions -- giving negative feedback is one way to discourage this type of activity in the future. I believe one of the reasons that eBay changed the feedback process for sellers is that it was too easy for sellers to behave improperly, using the threat of retaliatory negative feedback as a way to keep the buyer from giving them a negative. While it can make it difficult for honest, reputable sellers to avoid getting a negative for something silly or not being offered the opportunity to correct a situation, it does help prevent the wildly excessive improper auctions from going unpunished. I recently purchased an item that was supposed to ship promptly from the U.S. It shipped slowly from Hong Kong (I'm not kidding). When I contacted the seller expressing my concern about the delay, they couldn't have cared less and by the time I went to leave negative feedback, they were no longer a registered user. Others had experienced similar problems and eBay simply booted them from the system.
There are some wonderful sellers on eBay and I look forward to giving them my money
