Much like what Ron presented, the earlier version did not record your voice. Instead, particpants were asked by a ride attendant what their name was. You name was typed into a computer and pass was dispensed to the person. At the time you steppped onto the ride, your pass was collected, alonmg with the other riders, and fed into a machine that mached barcodes to typed names. A feature of the ride was at the conclusion it passed by a E.T. figure that says Good Bye to everyone, and speaks your name with E.T.'s accent. If your name was Elliot (or you said it was Elliot) the E.T. voice was that very pronounced, and drawnout, "Ellllllleot".
I have a couple of these cards, not in the greatest of condition, if anyone is interested.
