I don't know about CA but I saw the ET display in FL. One would enter the ET building and be greeted by ET speaking to you, a little farther you inserted the card and spoke to ET. At the end out the display before leaving you would insert your card again and ET would say to you , in your voice what you recored earlier. I think the card was left in the machine , as I don't have one in my collection from the group I was with-I did get to save the entry ticket stubs.
